Here’s the speaker / musician schedule for the remainder of July, and for August:

This Sunday, July 26, we will have a special musical treat! I will be bringing a group of young women from the Pittsboro community to sing for the service, and their musical presence promises to be inspiring as well as entertaining. These girls have not sung much in public, so I'd love to make them feel especially welcome to the Unity community. If some of us could provide a very simple lunch for them after the service, it would be a great opportunity to greet the girls and make them feel welcome and comfortable. If you are willing to prepare something along the lines of sandwiches, chips, cookies or drinks this Sunday, please e-mail me at ksloan2005@yahoo.com , or feel free to call me at 843-424-2428, and I will coordinate the details. Please let me know by Saturday morning, at the latest, and thank you!

 

 

The Unity Spirits will be providing special music on a Sunday in the not-too-distant future, so they will begin rehearsing on SUNDAY, AUGUST 9 following the service. (Please note, the announcement was erroneously made that rehearsal would be Sunday, August 2, but it will actually be AUGUST 9!) "Unity Spirits" is open to anyone who would like to share their musical talents -- large, medium or small -- with the congregation. You are welcome to join us. No need for permission or audition, just come gather 'round the piano after the service on Sunday, August 9 and we will make a joyful noise together!

 

 

Within the next month, you’ll see a new look to www.unityofnc.org. The newer version of our website will:

 

-         Contain photos of our meeting place, rather than ‘stock’ photos

-         Reflect an updated view of what our ministry is about – including our new Mission Statement

-         Make it easier for first time visitors to find how to reach our meeting place

We all remember this as a question often posed when we, as children, returned to school from summer vacation. Everyone would get a chance to stand in front of the classroom and talk about where they went, or what they did on summer vacation. Let’s play our own version of this game! USC has a poster in the back of the sanctuary, to which everyone can attach pictures of their vacations upon return. Where did you go? We want to know…. Regardless of where you travelled – be it France or Fuquay-Varina - bring in a picture!

 

 

Do you or someone you care about have a challenge or celebration you would like to hold in prayer? If you do, a prayer chaplain is available after Sunday service at the front of the sanctuary to pray with you. At other times, please feel free to call any of the prayer chaplains whose phone numbers are listed on the back of the bulletin. In addition, you may place a prayer request in the prayer box located in the back of the sanctuary.
